Hi there, I need advice from more advanced users or pro's. I hava a '97 2,5TD Scorpio. And I have, I think, problem with the turbo, it starts working around 4000RPM, and I think it should start about 2500-3000RPM. Does anybody know where's the problem, where can I adjust the turbo, do I have to do it manually or via electronics Many thanks for any replies. Have a nice day U.S.

Yours is electronic control so I would get an OBD-II scan done. If no codes show up then check for air leaks between the turbo and inlet manifold. Darren

The turbo wastegate actuator is controlled by a vaccum hose which runs to a small module behind the drivers side headlight, its goldish in colour and has a short length of rod coming out of it, i would doubt very much it has come unadjusted and be altering when the wastgate cuts in but might be worth a look. also, what makes you think the turbo starts working at around 4000rpm? how does the car pull through the rev range (2nd gear is the best to use)? any black smoke etc... the turbo on mine picks up at about 1500rpm and goes flat at around 3200rpm but with pull easily to 4250rpm (never usually need to go above 3000 ) Matt

Easiest way to tell which engine you have is the presence of a throttle cable connected to the top of the injection pump - early ones had a cable (or two if fitted with cruise control), later ones didn't. If yours is the early one (and it shouldn't be on a '97 reg) then it won't have a MAP sensor. Can you post a photo of your engine? Darren
