a minor drama

hello, another minor drama that would welcome suggestions. my problem is a little like Tintin's. my bus feels to run uneven when it's started from cold. no funny temp guage activity though, walms up quickly. just seems to only be firing on 5 for the first 30 seconds or so. I usually sit at tickover once she is started for 15-20 seconds then engage R. this once the reverse drive kicks in feels to 'lurch' a little pulsing as I reverse down the drive ! could my auto box be tired ? My spark plugs look in good cond, my air filter is clean' after market induction . I suppose it could be the H/T leads , they appear to be in good condition. or am I just being silly and expecting an awfull lot from a tired old bus ! almost 170,000 on the clock ! thanks for reading.

Have you tried giving the idle air control valve a clean inside with carb cleaner ? They tend to get quite sooty & can start to stick

Clean the MAF while you've got the carb cleaner out.

cheers guys. I'll give the dle control valve a blast with carb cleaner. the gent whom I purchased her from mentioned he had just cleaned the maf and it was already clean. I have also disconnected the batt for 40 seconds to reduce the thump into gear.
