Rear view mirror comes loose

Hi guys, my rear view mirror keeps coming loose and falls off its mount, do i need a new mirror or can i fix it? Cheers Andy.

If you're talking the autodipping mirror with a metal piece glued to the Windshield it can be fixed. I don't know if there are better methods but I fixed mine by jamming a piece of folded paper towards the windshield side of the mount. You'll have to experiment a little to find the right thickness to hold it there and once you've got it right it's hard to remove again. I chose white paper but since it's visible from the outside you may want to select a more neutral color.

Scorpius, be really careful if you're going to do the above, the same thing was suggested to me when I had the same problem..........broke the windscreen getting the mirror back on gently ....gently
