Sorry to ask this again ( I'm sure I 've read this before ) My Cossie's been off the road for a year now, I've been repairing the engine & gearbox looms , when I reconnected the battery and turned on the ignition both speedo & rev counter went round the clock and back , the engine will not turn over ( not even a click from the starter motor solonoide ( cant spel eithr ) and the ignition lights will not turn off.....When I disconnect./reconnect the battery they stay off until I switch the ignition on again. I repaired the loom by cutting each wire (one at a time) about 4"-6" from the O/S inner wing plug, sliding heat shring tubing down the full length of the wire ,shrinking it,putting another 10" piece or heat shrink on the cable soldering the the wire back together sliding the heatshrink over the joint, shrinking it to make a fully insulated cable again..By only doing one at a time it's impossible to make a mistake. During the time I've been working on it I've been spraying light oil down the bores and spinning the engine over so it didn't seize... Sorry to drone on but the more info there is someone might see the problem... Thanks all....Kimi....

hi there sounds like your battery's done. re the flicking dials, they will do this every time you disconnect the battery, do a dial reset or if the voltage drops. hth

Hi Kimi, The dancing neadles are normally a sign of a dead or partialy flat battery. I would take it off make sure its fully charged and try again.

I didn't know that. Must read the book...(yet) again. The gizmos on Scorps are mind blowing for us dinosaurs. Mind you, even more mind blowing is the knowledge people on this site have of them. Scary!

<<The gizmos on Scorps are mind blowing for us dinosaurs.>> On a car designed 13 years ago !! My mate boasts about his new Vectra, but I love asking him, " Wot, no dimming rear view mirror, no door mirror dip on reverse, no Global Closing ( and the rest ) ? "
