Exhaust Problem Sorted! (Fitting A Cat)

Hey all,
In regards to my previous post about my exhaust, ive tracked the problem down to the pipe being broken as it joins the cat! so a new cat is sitting next to me ready to fit 
I have the guide to doing this from the site, but any advice in regards to fitting it? anything i shoudl watch out for?
Oh its a 2.0 16v btw

Seized nuts usually - be careful not to round them off or snap the studs (less of a problem being as you're replacing the cat anyway, but makes the job quicker if they come off cleanly).

Hey,
The new cat is an aftermarket one, and dare i say, dont bother getting one! we have had nothing but trouble, having to source new studs (it didint come with it!) its a totaly diffent design and well was just a total nightmare.
Why does this car have to be so much trouble? lol

Don't bother getting new studs, just some nuts & bolts of the correct diameter and split or toothed washers to stop them from shaking loose.

have you fitted it yet,i got one from it had no studs didnt look anything like the ford one so took it back and got one from ford cost just the same £235 plus 35 surcharge.still sits on the car sat in the garden[dont use it any more wife whats it scrapped]

Ok guys,
The cat is all on and fitted, it looked nothing like the ford one, and i had some issues with the studs, but low and behold it fitted perfectly with a little messing around, was on in less than 15 mins!!
Ive noticed an increase in power and for once my fuel consumption is above 24mpg lol!!!
Watch this space ill keep you posted.
I did notice this morning on the way to work that it seemed to "kick" now and then though, like she was about to stall then back to life.. could this be something to do with the car getting used to the new cat? or maybe one of the lamba sensors?
