Hi,This is my first post My N reg 2.5TD scorpio is leaking water from where the black hose connects to the metal pipe going to the radiator. It started off as a small drip but over time has developed into a fast one..I keep having to top up everyday. Ive had a mate have a quick look and he said the seal is gone and that i need a new pipe.Ive come on here for a second opinion and to know if it can be resealed or if i need a new pipe..Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi & welcome.....I'm not all that familiar with the TD, but assume you are talking about one of the large bore water pipes that enter/exit the rad ?.. If the pipe is split then it will probably need replacing, although you can get a rap-around repair tape. I've never used it, but would assume it's only a temporary repair option. If it's only leaking because the rubber pipe isn't tight enough over the rad pipe then a new jubilee clip may solve the problem

Thanks for the reply..Ive had a look myself and the leak is coming from the rad pipe.It has a small split right around where it seals to the other.Looks like i need a new rad pipe

You can often get them to seal by cutting the split end off, at least as a temporary fix.
