https://sslrelay.com/buypartsby.co.uk/clutch_kit_details.php?recordID=18 46 Your clutch kit will cost you just over £100, if you cant fit it yourself or know someone who can do it properly then i'd take the garage route. Its not too difficult a job but you're looking at least a good couple of hours. £220 looks a fair price for a garage. I do them myself and often using a good second hand clutch (yes yes i know all you mototing purists dont agree but its worked for me so far and its really cheap)!

Stuart. I recenly researched a new clutch for my 2.0lt 16v and looked at the site you suggest which came up with a price of £170 -19 +vat (£199-07) for the three piece unit. The hydraulic bearing, which presumably one would replace at the same time, is included. A quote from Trevor at FPUK came up with £89-44 for the clutch and £138-63 for the bearing. I think a lot of factors, unless asked, are not aware that this is a three piece unit with the bearing being the most expensive part. The bearing is sometimes referred to as a CSS (Concentric slave cylinder). The parts supplied by 'your' company are provided by LUK and according to the technical detail on this site that is the 'original fitment' on these cars. Would you not, as a matter of course, replace the bearing ?. Indeed that could be the cause if it has failed. Any thoughts? Mike

Allways replace the carm unit (bearing), you should also replace the dual mass flywheel, wont get any warranty if you have a problem unless.

If it has the dual mass clutch then £220 is a very reasonable price. The last I heard they were about £700 My old early model 2.0 N reg Scorp just had a standard granada type clutch in it & that was still £180 fitted about 5 years ago
