Overdrive Light flashing

Hi all,
The overdrive light is flashing, I have checked the wiring and there are no problems there.
Next I check the gearbox level and it was very very low (below min) and a brownish colour, now would this cause the o/d light to flash?

The low fluid level will certainly not help, have you topped it up and checked the o/d light?
Top that up, clean the MAF then it may well go out
