1998 cozzy
changing the plugs on wifes cozzy to day and found oil in the holes were the plugs sit into,,
moped as much oil out then changed the plugs,
would i right in thinking that the figer 8 gaskit gon on the inner rocker cover gaskit gone ,the oil was in all 6 plug holes.
ive orded a head set ,
also noticed that the ford garage that last serviced it had fitted non platnum plugs in ,
is it a big job ??
looks quite simple to do ..let me no if any hidden things to look out for thanks shaun,,,,

nah its not a big job, but the intake will have to come off, so watch you dont break the tiny little T connector located towards the rear of the engine,
mine did the same, i found they seated better if you separate the gasket into the 6 rings, then add a small amount of gasket seal to them as there isnt much pressure applied to them from the 2 middle fixings in the rocker cover

thanks m8 ,that will please the wife ,its her pride and joy ,and everthing has to be spot on even down to the dust caps. she sold a ford puma 17,and had the cozzy ,and she is only 30 years old ,

It may be that the plugs were not tight enough and there was a slight weep around the plug. I have had this in the past and found no other cause.

Sorry I am a bit late with this reply; only just read the thread  . I would also fit a new rocker/cam cover gasket each side. When you tighten down the cover, to 7 newton metres I think, I actually took them to 9 NM but found that because of compressing the gasket the torque ended up being less and this led ultimately to oil in the plug holes again. It pays to keep going round the nuts until the torque remains constant at, say, 9NM.
