Screen washer jets

Got a problem with the passenger side screen washer jet - basically nothing coming out !

Had a quick poke with a pin and a fine needle but no improvement - looked under the bonnet and can't quite work out how to remove it !
Seems to be a wire ( heater ? ) as well as the water pipe but how is it fixed in ?

Help !

Hi Mike,

Just had similar problem - the jet pushes out at an angle, remove the connector and the pipe and then push out by (I think) pulling down and forwards!

As it turned out mine were ok but the filter in the washer bottle was blocked - to get to it pull the motor out, which is just a push fit - then pull the rubber bung/filter out (the water will gush at this point!)

This may help.  Wink

If you look at the main unit it has a 'clip at the front end and this needs to be depressed in order to allow it to lift up and out of the bonnet. IIRC you can do it from above with a fine lever BUT watch the paintwork. Dave's comment about the fluid reservoir is a good bet.

If both have failed, I would suspect that horrible gunge growing in the bottom of the reservoir - especially if you have not been using the proper fluid. Pull the pump out of its socket and flush out the reservoir, pump and pipework thoroughly.

Drivers side jet is working perfectly, one jet on passenger side manages a weak dribble, other jet is blocked so it has to be the washer jet.
Still can't get the wretched thing out !
