LOST: Lights left on warning alarm and radio power

I have just completed a small service as advised by scorpio_man with total success, engine now ticking over as it should ~ I cleaned both the idle bypass solenoid and the MAF sensor unit, they are now scrupulously clean, BUT, after removing my battery to recharge it, I refitted it back on the car to find that I have lost my audible warning [lights inadvertently left on beep, beep.] and the power to initialise my 7000 radio - I have no 'Enter Code' dialogue appearing Where am I going wrong? am I missing something obvious after a battery removal and refit? Both were working B4 I removed the battery for recharge Puzzled

Are you sure you connected ALL the cables back to the battery terminals ?

Radio covered by Fuse 8 (Whoops) in the drivers side fusebox...?. As Mike indicates there is a small black cable which can get 'lost' as it can fall out of sight when the battery is disconnected. On mine there is the thick black lead together with the much thinner one.

hi there could also be fuse 36 that's blown. failing that, check that everything is off and then disconnect the battery again. wait a minute, put it back on and check everything again. hth

Managed to sort out half the problem ~ the sounder. Continuous when not in P and pulsed when in P and lights left on ~ ironically to warn you so you don't flatten the battery The culprit?... a dirty door post switch drivers side, squirt of Maplins switch cleaner work wonders, but... Still no joy from my 7000 I have checked the wires on the battery PHOTO I have checked fuse 8 [5 Amp] as suggested and it is OK I have gone as far as to check power to the rear of the unit and there is a permanent 12V and an ignition switched 12V so everything look ok but the unit still refuses to play ball and come up with "CODE - - - - " Anybody any ideas? Remember it was working fine B4 I took the battery off for re-charge still half puzzled

| I have checked fuse 34 [10A] ok! I'll now go back out in the lovely sunshine* and follow your power cycle instructions to see if I can kick life into the stupid radio. * I hope the weather is as good next Sun for HH Fingers X'd

scorpio_man I read somewhere that you'll be leaving at midday on the 15th heading back to Scotland is this correct? I would be pleased to see a print out/details of my Cossie OBD or whatever it is called.
