Hi, Problems again! Last week i had to call the AA as my fob key wouldnt work, he managed to get inside the car through the sunroof, he told me i needed a new key fob and not to lock it again. Unfortunately i found out the day after that my boot wont open. I have a new key fob coming and have to programme it to the car myself but would this release my boot so it opens, thankyou

If the problem is the keyfob then the replacement should set everything back to how it was before the keyfob broke... unless there is a wiring issue, ie, if the boot opened it should open again with new fob. hth Pete

The boot can be opened with the key! if it will not open with the remote then I think you should look at the boot solenoid, Don't your keys operate the door locks? If not and they are badly worn ( key or lock) a newly cut key may open the doors otherwise it might be advantageous in investing in a new door lock and ignition lock .

Think it is the fob as when i locked the doors the fob locked the boot aswell. The AA man got the doors open but i didnt realise till the next day about the boot. The key wont open it the fob has to unlock it. Will let you know when the fob arrives and hopefully i manage to programme it, if not i maybe posting for more help, thanks for the replies.

If the key will NOT open the boot either the key is worn or you have a different key for the boot and doors. The key will OVERIDE the fob locking on EVERY occassion. That is how you get into the car if the fob stops working . YOu could try working the boot lock with the key and lots of WD stuff or similar could just be siezed with NOT being used .
