My cosy power steering seems to stop working after driving for a short time it returns to normal if switch off engine and re start. It is still driveable in this state so not completely lost.

Low fluid level, or maybe the belt is slipping on the P/S pump, or maybe the P/S pump is on it's way out ?

As the Cossie has a speed sensitive system could this be an electrical problem? ie: wiring or connection ?.
