Problems with Remote and car seat memory

Everything was working A1............smashed drivers mirror and had to replace.
Now Memory position1 no longer works, wife has 2 so I have now gone to 3.........had battery disconnected and have had to reprogram remote.
Current situation is that seat memory functions 2&3 work from switch on drivers door. Have re programmed remote......with seat in posn 3, ign. on off 3 times.....get beep....press unlock get beep..but if I leave seat in wifes position when I leave car and unlock car with remote seat does not go back to posn 3
Any one any ideas.

Give the switch a dose of switch cleaner or WD 40?.
