automatic gear scorpio diesel 2.5TDA

My Ford Scorpio Diesel Automatic 2.5TDA Ghia (June 199 broke down recently.
It appeared that the automatic gear was over heated and burned down.
So I had it brought back to the gear ioverhaul specilaist who once before did a jiob like this on it.
Overhauling the gear was cpompleted.
Now it apperas that the cause for the ioverheating was a not functioning pressure sensor part of the PSM cirrcuitry was not functioning.Its a black sensor (pressure regulator) with four wires mounted halfway the gearbox on the righthand side above the carterpan.
They requested a new part at Ford but got the answer it was out off stock and will not be produced anymore
Can some please advise me how to solve this

Well you have two choices scrap the car or the only route left is a 2nd gear box
I would go for the later

I've never even seen a diesel auto, I know the engine was widely used in a lot of other makes such as the Jeep Cherokee, Range Rover etc so possibly one of these other makes used the same autobox??

They often have deleted stock items.
Got to be worth asking.
