Tekno. It could just be due to slight overnight corrosion where the pads touch the discs, try standing on the brakes at high speed, this will also tend to straighten out slightly warped discs as well. GOZZ.

Mine were new and the wobbly got worse and worse, to the point where I was about to order up some more - then I read about a theory with regards to stresses building up in the disks. The cure is to get the disks good and hot, then let them cool down slowly whilst still rotating - just as Gozz suggests. I did three high speed (almost) stops, with full acceleration in between up to 70+, after which I drove the car for a good few minutes to allow the disks to fully cool down without stopping. It was an immediate and permanent no cost cure.

Bushes sorted it for me. Went through a period where I had two sets of pads and three pairs of front disks under warranty so no charge to me on my 2.0ltr, but the problem kept coming back, for all the world like warped disks. Quite separately had new set of bushes and the problem went.

Also check the condition of the steering rack mounting bushes, track rod ends and for general slackness in the rack.

Are you sure it's the bearing & not worn track rod inner ball joints or worn wishbone bushes causing the wheel movement ?

I had the same problem fitted a set of Halfords own brand pads, no I dont work for them, and after a short time the problem went away I think its because they are harder and wear the disc more.

I have now changed the front hub. Bearing is now good. But still wobbly steering when braking. What are rear wishbone bushes? How to check their condition? And sure they make steering wobble when braking?

Rear wishbone bush is the large bush at the back of the front suspension track control arm or 'wishbone',they break up with use and allow the wishbone to move in and out thus causing tyre wear, wandering steering and sometimes a wobble. It is plain to see if they are collapsing because the wishbone does not sit centrally in the bushes, and if you look inside the void you will see cracks in the rubber which open up when levered sideways.Sometimes people fit these bushes wrongly causing premature failure, the metal collar has a small gap in it which should be at the top,and the big nuts must not be tightened until the car is on the ground and rolled to and fro to assume it's correctly settled position GOZZ.

TRW branded. No idea about their quality. I'm going to change outer track arm joints. If that doesn't help -> Upgrade to cossie brakes with quality discs.

| Didn't you replace almost all of you front suspension components already? Wisbones, track rod ends, bearings, drop link arms etc. Mine is sometimes a bit wobbly, but it depends really much on the road surface. And i use 225/50R16. Is it a sidewards wobbling, or bouncy up&down or steering wandering?

sidewards.. I have replaced Track rod ends, both bearings are ok now, link rods, front stabilizer bushes. Sometimes braking is ok but sometimes this wobbliness comes. like every second brake.. how is that possible !

| And the rear arm bushes, they are OK? I have sidewards movement sometimes too, I should probably have as a precaution done mine when replacing springs. But mostly I have on a specific place on the way home from work, so it might just be worn road. It might be you have the same, but worse.
