Probelms with injection system

Hello I wonder if anybody could help me, I'm having problems with a 2.3 it just packed up one day, would not start turning over fine but would not fire up. had a muck around with it but still nothing. Went out next day and it started on the button run for a minute and cut out. I had another look at it and found I had petrol in the fuel rail but none coming out of the injectors, if I leave the injector rail unbolted I get little pulses of fuel coming fro, the injectors but not regular and not enough. I've tried a new (second hand) petrol pump but no change. Any thoughts? Thanks Tim
