ok 2.5td exec scorp just fitted a new alt cured the flickerin neddles prob but some times when cold the starter just clicks flick it a few times and she fires up no probs could it be faulty starter causin the prob or ing switch probs thanks

Sounds to me like the solenoid contacts are wearing out. It was a very common fault on other makes especially rovers but they are replaceable and only take a few minues work , IF you can locate some. otherwise a new alternator would be the solution. Worth having a look at though. Could also be the switch is faulty or even the repaly but personally I would say its the solenoid from my past experiences. CHEERS M8 I REPLACED THE ALT FOR A RECON ONE AS IT WAS NOT CHARGIN AT THE CORRECT RATE THATS OK NOW AND THE NEEDLE RESET HAS STOPED SO I THINK HAVIN THE STARTER RECONED IS LOOKIN LIKE THE NEXT STEP THE RECON ALT WAS ONLY £45 FROM A PLACE IN MANCHESTER SO LOOKIN LIKE ANOTHER TRIP THERE LOL
