Auto dimming mirror failed

My mirror has finally failed - looks like the fluid is sitting in bottom half.
Anyone else replaced theirs with another auto dimmer or just a manual flip mirror - and where did you source it?
I've read Snoopy's repair and I aim to replace mine. In meantime have put a cloth over centre console-just in case.

Was in local Ford garage (& where I bought car) picking up some mudflap clips (also becoming rare). Asked about a replacement mirror and manager checked - £430 
No chance of buying 1 though - none available! He also confirmed they were also Scorpio specific so probably no chance of using 1 from another model.
