Cruise Control not working

Now for the next challenge! My cruise control doesn't work (it never has) and the green circular dashboard indicator never lights up. Have changed the cable servo as it was seized, but no luck. ABS module is all good. I suspect it could be the brake switch, but is there anything else to check? Should the green circular light illuminate on ignition systems-check?

Feel sure the green light runs lit on ignition set up, but will check when I go out in the morning.

I was WRONG, on my 95 cos estate this does not lihght up on ignition start up.
It seems to only come on when you actually engae cruise (over 20 mph on these)
