Driver's door wiring

Hi all Our 1996 2.0 Ultima has developed a fault recently with the electrics in the driver's door. None of the window, mirror, or seat switches are working, and the puddle lights don't light up. The door does still lock on the fob though. We've checked all the fuses, and tried swapping a few relays, with no effect (any info on what relays are relevant would be helpful though). My Dad's had the door card off and had his multimeter on the wiring, but it's difficult to know what to look for without a wiring diagram. I've found this post from Snoopy that I saw a couple of years ago, but the link doesn't seem to come up with anything anymore. https://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=admin;action=di splay;num=1268901956 Are these available elsewhere on the site? Alternatively, if anybody has had similar issues, advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ryan.

The link isn't working properly for some reason, but if you copy and paste it, and correct the part that says display to actually say display, you'll find Snoopy's old post.

You can also get to the wiring diagrams via the "How to do things" section at the bottom of the first forum page. I've twice had similar problems with my driver's door. Each time, it's been a failed driver door module. Not difficult to change. There's some on eBay but be careful to get the correct one as they are different for the passenger side. Bob

Very unusual for so many circuits in the door to drop, so would look at the twist and lock bulk-connector which will be visible with the door open

Hi I lost all the mirrors etc previously, had to swap out the drivers door module, make sure you get one marked up drivers door as this drives all the mirrors and windows, the left hand drive cars are marked the same but fit upside down so one from the guys in lithuania will be fine. Check the multi plug to the body is not coroded and seating properly. Are the independant windows on the rest of the car still working OK if you have an Ultima the seat setings are stuck on what was last used and the reverse mirror won't dip, also the seat will need moving if position is incorrect for the driver? The sticker on the module has suffixes from A to E (last to charachters in combination) some enable global closing and some don't but all should fit OK and do the job, ebay should turn one up for you, bit fiddly but straightforward to fit. Ran mine for months before I could get a module and sort it all R y

Thanks for the advice all. Much appreciated. Sounds like we need a Driver's door module. Hoping to go and pick some Scorpio parts up from one being broken soon, so we'll see if he's got one. If not, eBay it is!
