Only seen in an advert, but on eBay I came across a classified ad from a used car business for an R-reg but pre-facelift Cosworth Ghia-X saloon, claimed only 20,010 Miles, asking for ...
£15,000
FIFTEEN THOUSAND!
It caught my eye only because while Howmanyleft.com lists there as being 78 Scorpios taxed and on the road at end Q1 this year, of any combination of the two body-types, four trim levels and six engines, it has there as being only 22 Cosworths, and only TWO are Ghia-X Cosworths. As I have one of the two I've idly wondered about how similar to mine the other is. (Mine's an R-reg facelift Estate in Dark Aubergine with Raven interior, the one in the ad is an R-reg pre-facelift saloon also in Dark Aubergine but with Pumice interior.) But as the classified ad was posted last November and I find it hard to believe anyone paid that much for it, it's probably not taxed, so not 'the other' Ghia-X Cosworth.

Rarity breeds demand, the rarer an item is the more people want it.
So thank the banger boys for the value in yours, mind you you can't get any parts because Ford charges fortune so they'll be there for years and you have to find alternatives (like the granada mark 3 water pump or scrap your car.
I went with it all for a while but eventually the electrics let me down so they all went, miss the comfort, but my diesel does 45 mpg regularly so my wallet is now a happy bunny!!

Good luck with it all, if you come to sell it take a wheelbarrow to carry all the cash home.
Don't bank it as if we get too skint dear old Burnham (on sea) will charge any one with more than a fiver 10% of the money in your bank because the next lot of thick MP'S (£100k a yaer for doing the country in) only want to support themselves only in a cushy job for the next 5 years.
