As soon as I put the AC on in my S reg 2.3 the rad cooling fans come on full blast and stay on till I turn the ignition off, even if I turn the AC off. This happens even when the engine is stone cold. Any ideas?

Is the other control set to 'screen'?. If so alter the position and see if that affects things.

hi there sound like a pressure issue. when was it re-gassed? the fans should run in slow mode as a default, cycling on and off. when there's a pressure issue (low or high), they come on in high speed mode all the time. hth

Thanks Guys. I had it re-gassed earlier in the summer. I'm sure it didn't happen prior to that.

Sorted. It was a fault in the wiring to the thermal switch in the A/C unit. Tiberius, if you have the same fault as me than you need to get it seen to because it will ruin the fuel economy. However it may be that what you see is the fans at low speed., which is normal. At full speed they sound like two RB211s.

Sorry m8, mine are at slow speed . Once on a hot day they did go full blast and yes, they did sound like a jet . Please don't curse me with more electrical gremlins, I managed to get mine all sorted a while back . Regards, Bruce.
