word of warning carb/injector cleaner

decided it would be a good idea to use the above mentioned stuff to clean the contacts on my computer control switch. worked a treat on the contacts but it is melting the plastic.  looks like i am going to need a new one.

you should only use switch contact cleaner or ipa.

As per Scorpio_man's post, contact cleaner. Servisol stuff is the best IMO, a can from Maplin is about £3.70...works a treat on old hifi switches  .

It does say on a can of carb spray...."Avoid contact with paintwork & plastics".....anything that can disolve varnish probably ain't gonna be to kind to plastic 
But it is better than 'Gunk' at cleaning oil & grease off engines etc, & you don't have to hose it down afterwards....
