Probably, like a lot of you, I've got the standard Ford 7000RDS EON Car Radio/CD/Cassette unit fitted in my car, with the CD changer in the boot. A thought occurred to me today. Will these units still work when we go over to these digital/non-analogue systems? I don't want to go the flashy neon lit/mp3 all dancing route. I'd actually like to just keep my existing unit in place. (Which I will do anyway, and just play CD's & tapes if it comes to it). So can anyone give DEFINITE advice on the situation, as to where we stand? Just interested...That's all.

Well, one could perhaps plug a DAB radio into an FM transmitter and use that to play radio over the existing stereo, but the original setup alone won't be able to pick up DAB radio.

What I'm basically asking is this. Will we be able to get ANY radio reception on our currently fitted units?

When they turn off the old analogue radio net.. then no. Perhaps you can pick up some foreign stations on the LW/MW bands but the FM band will be dead.

That's not what I wanted to see. Looks like I'll have to re-design the fascia when I've decided what to do. Not good news at all, but Thanks.

Hi SD. You can get a converter which you plug inline with the FM aerial line which will do the DAB. You'll need the extra box somewhere so you can tune the stations but you can use the existing Ford head unit .

Cheers Bruce. I'll look into this. I like the dash just the way it is really, so just looking at options ATM.
