car wont start ?

headlights are bright ! started ok this afternoon but now nothing (had a heavy downpour last night !)

We need more info than just will not start...
Any lights warning lights . PATS flashuing any codes. etc. etc  
trell us more .
what engine , have you got a battery cover ?

thanks snoopy. the car is a 97 scorpio 2.0 16 dohc auto .battery cover fitted. no warning lights. and sorry i dont no what pats are  Embarassed

thanks david. its the earth strap that's snapped off on the started motor. any tips or hints of what to do. as you can tell i aint no mechanic !  Sad
