Thats really bad news. Have you thought of not claiming on insurance and strip the scorp down and sell off part by part. The engine/box, seats, lights etc. Must be worth something.

If it involves another vehicle and it's not your fault then try calling helphire - they sorted me good and proper when I got hit by another car - I'll never go to the insurers again myself. Darren

It's bad enough when the old Scorps reach the end of the line due to failure or old age but it seems sadder when our numbers are reduced by accidents. Don't know about you but I find my ABS makes little difference in stopping ability in slushy snow.

| ...& the traction control & auto ice mode seems pretty useless as well. Dropped a guy of on Thursday night & his driveway went down towards his house. No car had been in or out since it had snowed that morning & there was 4 inches of virgin snow. No problem going down, but getting back up was a nightmare. Had to keep taking runs at it, & eventually after about the 20th time & ten minutes I got back out onto the road. The traction control just seemed useless on the now compressed snow....it just wasn't getting me anyware So I took one last run up with the TC off and in D....& made it to the top....like I used to do it in the olden days in the Cortina....lots of wheel spinning

Yip, you can't beat the superior rear wheel drive It seems, RWD is gradually making a comeback, with many US models reverting to the sensible front wheels for steering, rear wheels for power, set-up.

Sorry to see that Pete, as you know, I'm a position to totally understand. Glad you're ok. We do seem to be able to walk away from these things. Good luck with the next one Geoff

Sorry to find this Pete. Looks like the car deformed in all the right places just as it should but a real pain for you in any case. Geoff
