Mudflap Brackets

Does anyone know a source for a pair of brackets for securing a mudflap? I wanted to reset one of my rear flaps - managed to twist it off, but the screws and nuts have fused so that I can't separate them (despite deep immersion in WD40) and so replace the flap. The flap is in good order so I don't need to buy a full kit from Ford. IainC

hi there try halfords. they usually have that sort of stuff, not the same type, but will hold it on. or ask fmd if they have some lying around (if they have a bodyshop).

Thanks for advice. I had tried Halfords, but my local branch had nothing outside flap packs. However, to my surprise, I got a couple of new brackets today over the counter from my local Fords garage (Part Number 5016703); I had understood that they were available only with flaps, but apparently not so. My local non-Ford garage had already offered to cut the bolt so that I could just buy a new bolt + nut for the old flanges. Saves grubbing around scrap yards. Iain C

Hi. Be careful if they are the type that just clip on, I got some of these for the Mondeo and they kept falling off The ones with the torx bolt are better

No worries - they are the same as the type that came with my front FMC flaps. Allen Keyed, not clip on. IainC
