Huh

I'm not sure I get you mate.

Draining the battery in the laptop?

Maybe try a power adaptor instead?

Battery in my laptop died ages ago, I keep an adaptor in the car *just in case* Smiley

the problem is not with the laptop, it works fine on his car and others he has tried it on. it just seems that my car sucks the life out of it. not really a problem it just seems strange.

Strange Huh If it's like the Elmscan, the interface module only draws low current from the USB, it can't draw much from there anyway.
