My fan (heater) will fade and not blow air and then suddenly starts again, sometimes it seems to coincide with engine revs tick over demands. It helps to have window open and appears to make fan start again, so i have to get colder to get warmer. Any ideas? Is it a filter, cleaning something, wear and tear or big job/bucks?

If you have the semi auto aircon that problem is caused more often than not by a faulty heater blower control unit in the top of the heater box,it has two plugs and is held in by two screws, you may need to jiggle it about to get the long heat sink through the aperture. GOZZ.

yes auto & manual on dial, 2 temp up down arrow controls. Is that unit alot of moey or repair? My air con compressor rusted, siezed, then ripped belt last year, so I dont have a/c. That shouldn't affect it should it?

| A new unit is bound to be excessively priced at Ford, there are plenty of used ones about. The compressor failure is not connected to the HBC. GOZZ.

I see a member of the site has a couple on Ebay see item 130639861349. Although strangely there’s a compatibility chart that says it’s not compatible

Don't worry ! OBD refers to the 'On Board Diagnostics' Read about it Here. The first thing to do is have a read of This article and carry out a test and reset. You'll see I have moved your post to the problems page which should ensure you get more advice. If the HBC is suspect the details of how to check/change are Here
