Scorpio 24v Cossie Wiper Linkage

Hi all,
I was driving home about an hour ago in aheavy downpour and what happened, yes you guessed it! CLUNK! the wiper linkage broke and so it was 5 mph all the way home, what a *%"!?_*$*?
Anyway, got to a Ford dealer spare parts dept and of course they do not sell separate parts do they? No they dont and they quoted me £97.00 for the full linkage. I nearly fell over!!!
So please, does anybody know where I can get the wiper linkage for a 1997 (P reg) cossie for a resonable price(I need it ASAP due to the seriously bad weather)?

Don't despair just yet!!. Read THIS then either go to a 'scrappy' or to the Ford dealer with the relevant Finis nos and save yourself a fortune. Many have used the 'cable tie' method as a fix in the meantime.

Gerry, if you cant fix it then all models use the same linkage so any one from a breaker will do you
