I notice the stub to the heater manifold is missing on that one on Ebay. I know the stub screws in on a fine tapered saw tooth thread, but don't think I'd chance it on an old manifold - not for that money.

The heater matrix brass outlet that is missing can be replaced with the one from your old manifold using some extra strong high temperature glue (Evostick 'Serious Glue' or similar). But to be honest, it looks a bit ropey.....check out the ECT & temp guage sensors & their fittings.....I don't see any brass, just corrosion . So the likelyhood is that the sensors will need replacing & when you try & get them out they will probably spin the fittings out of the manifold .......extra strong high temp glue time again My opinion....don't go there, especially at £75 Most good S/H ones go for no more than £50 on Ebay or between £25-£35 from a breakers yard

My concern with the brass outlet to the heater matrix is why it’s not there, you wouldn’t normally take it out, and indeed it’s not advisable to take it out. If it pulled out then the manifold may have cracks in that area. It should just screw in, but screwing it in with some glue and a new O ring makes sense. Being a tapered thread it’s quite likely cracks will develop in the manifold over time. As it’s a very fine ratchet form thread it needs to be scrupulously clean before fitting - to prevent damage to the thread in the manifold. Soaking the brass in dilute ammonia and cleaning with a brass scratch brush should do the trick.

No Jon It was someone else but can't remember who, can't be bothered to find out either he couldn't have wanted it much I stripped the autobox of the ally and the engine and weighed it all in along with some other scrap before my hols... including some wheels, got a tidy £145 as a bonus.... I have a load of other Scorp stuff left which I'll bag up one day when I'm not busy and put on e-bay or in the bin if it don't sell. I aint givin it away.... Pete Pete

with Highlander. These are HTF - especially if you need one quickly Also keep the exhaust manifold as these are prone to cracking and if your old engine block is cracked you may want to keep the cylinder head too. Keep the coil packs as spares. Basically stash anything you can get off the block in your garage or shed - you may need it sometime.

Cheers Highlander and Scorpio mike, I was going to keep the head as it had only just had a head gasket done and had been skimmed. As a matter of course I would have kept the coil packs, but I didnt know they where prone to cracked exhaust manifolds. Cheers again. Robbo
