Desperately need radiator for 24v Ultima as it's the only car I've got and all local breakers think I'm taking the mickey expecting them to have one.

Hi David, if you cant find a good 24v one try an other Scorpio radiator (12v or 16v not the diesel, must be from an auto for the gearbox cooling pipes) I and a few others have fitted 16v or 12v rads with no problems despite them being slightly smaller in size. If you can find one in a scrapyard try and get the header tank too as the 24v has a small extra hose from its header tank to the top of the rad

The cars in a Ford breakers at the moment to be repaired. He didn't have a cossie one so is gonna try a temp repair but I'll let him know that in morning. I think he said he had a 12v so he can fit that

Ok looks like it's sorted he's got one from a 2.0 16v and he's gonna fit that. With the added provision that if it over heats and the engine blows up it's not his fault

I've been running a 16v one in mine for 40,000 miles plus and its never had any bother, despite getting a good testing now and again p.s. remember the header tank

16v rad is the way to go - it'll take you about 2 hours to swap out the rad and the header tank, and they can be had for a tiny fraction ofthe cost of a proper 24v rad
