Hi, I am needing a pair of rear shock absorbers to keep my beloved Scorpio on the road ( MOT ). I have heard that members have managed to use substitute shock absorbers at much reduced cost than buying Ford parts! Can anyone tell me a specification that will do the job? Failing that is there anyone able to tell me where I might be able to source used shock absorbers in reasonable condition?

You could try ebay - search on 'scorpio breaking' and see what comes up Then do the 'ask seller a question' - 'Do you have...' and wait for a reply. Sometimes works, sometimes not.

Star sign is Scorpio ! Sierra XR4i's are great...especially when fitted with 4WD

Be careful if ordering new. My local motor factor lists the same for saloon and estate. If I hadn't known better I would have special ordered an incorrect and non returnable part
