Not posted on here for a while (maybe because my Scorpio has been a pleasure to own & drive giving no problems while in my care) but have been dropping in reading Posts with interest. I’ll be honest…I am a Front Engine Porsche fan. 924, 924S, 928, 968….love them all. The Scorpio was bought for one reason, to use as a Holiday Car for my trip down to St Ives Bay & a bit of a Tour around Cornwall. The trip was taken a couple of weeks ago & the Scorpio performed faultlessly carrying me, the Family & a boot full of luggage down to St Ives & back to Birmingham. With the touring around we covered around 900 miles in the searing heat of Summer (do you remember the Summer…..we did manage a week of it) without a hitch. Anyway, time for the old girl to move on to pastures new & make way for a Porker. Now, I pride myself on being a genuine, honest guy so I will list the Good, the Bad & the Ugly exactly as I see it…..nothing hidden. Ok, enough waffling, description time…. 2ltr 16v Scorpio Ghia 5 Speed Manual First Registered 25/11/1994 – M Reg Colour – Atlantic Blue (at least I think that’s what it’s called) Mileage – Just over 67000 (when through the 66666 mile mark while in Cornwall. My Daughter took a picture of speedo at the time, lol) Number of former Keeper – 5 MOT until April 9th 2013 TAX until end Sept 2012 Car had been stood since some time in 2006 with the Previous Owner taking it "round the block" every week to keep things moving. THE GOOD Engine starts fine, first turn of the key. No overheating what-so-ever (Motorway, City Traffic, left ticking over for 10 mins….nothing) No major rust or rot that I can find (except Rear Arches….see below in THE BAD) Interior is in very good condition (Cloth Seats, Dash, Carpets, etc) Central Locking works (from key…no key fob…not sure if 1994 models had them??) All four Electric Windows work Electric Mirrors work All Lights work Heater Fan works on all settings By the looks of the Ash Tray & Lighter, the car has never been smoked in (I am a smoker but have never smoked in the car…ever) Trip Computer thingy works on all settings Still fitted with original Ford Radio Cassette Comes with three keys, one with the small light (light does not work), one standard black key & one red key THE BAD Electric Sunroof does not work (just clicks) ABS Light comes on once you get above around 10 mph There is a blow from the exhaust by engine (not sure if it is from Downpipe or Manifold….tends to go quiet once up to temperature so not investigated) Rear Wheel Arches have the usual rust Small chip in windscreen on Passenger side & a couple of scratch marks on Drivers side The Rear Passenger Door Card has a small “nick” in the top vinyl Brakes could do with renewing all-round (bit of a “shake” under braking above 50 mph) Advisories on MOT – Nearside & Offside front Brake hoses slightly deteriorated, Nearside & Offside rear Brake Pipes slightly corroded No Service History (only came with a couple of old MOT’s) THE UGLY (maybe being a little over-critical….) As the car had stood on a Driveway for around 6 years before I bought it, it has picked up some dents / scrapes / scratches There are small dents on some of the Window surrounds The Bonnet has a dent in the middle that looks like the Bonnet was shut with a Tool on top of the Engine The Doors & Wings have the usual “age related” trolley dings, etc The Paintwork lets the car down. While it polishes up ok, there are areas where the Previous Owner has sprayed with rattle-cans (Bonnet, Rear Passenger Door) but I cannot see why The Front Drivers & Front Passenger doors have “Sebring” Stickers on them. I have not attempted to take them off so do not know if they are hiding something Since in my ownership I’ve given it a mini “Service” (Plugs, Fluids, Filters, etc), fitted second hand 16” Ford 12 Spoke Alloy Wheels with very good tyres & I’ve installed a 10 Disc CD Changer under the Passenger seat. Nitty-gritty time……..the Price…. With the 16” Alloys left on & the CD Changer left fitted (will throw in the original 15” Alloys for free)……£400.00 ono. Without the 16” Alloys & CD Changer…….£350.00 ono. Either way, I’m losing money, but can’t buy a Porsche until it’s gone as I have no Drive or Garage. Pictures below show the car as bought (with 15” Wheels). Will put new pictures on later but have posted the picture of the 16” Wheels when bought. Car is in Erdington, Birmingham. Viewing is available (& encouraged) at any mutually agreed time & date. Posting it on here first before it goes on the bay of E to give any Scorpio Lover the chance to buy before the “Kit Car Brigade” buy it as a donor for the 16 Valve Engine & Manual Gearbox. If interested, send me a PM with Telephone number & arrangements can be made.
