Rubys On The Road Again

Ruby passed the MOT yesterday. I'm absolutely over the Moon. I had thought that both Scorpios were dead ducks. And, oh boy, did I miss them. Sooo, we thought we would give Ruby a chance as the engine on Beasty is not good. I was recommended to a really excellent welding business here in Brecon called Goddards Fabrication. The boss, Ryan, had her up on his hoist and we went underneath with a fine tooth comb,. It was an ugly scene, including a crack in the Chasis. He called on another expert Welder who said that it was possible to sort Ruby out properly. NO HALF MEASURES, which is what I wanted. These cars are just too good to faf about with They had Ruby for two weeks: Did all the welding, plating etc, using Spot Welding., A proper professional job. They then treated all the Chasis and box sections, everything, inside and outside with the latest rust inhibitor and did the same with up-to-date underseal. It is an absolute pleasure to look underneath Ruby. Hehe!! All this cost £1250.00. And worth every penny. My wife's Ford Scorpio Ultima Cosworth Estate:

WELL DONE, another lives on, makes a change from all the ones lost and the rusty buckets for sale out there at present. Pictures of "Ruby" perchance?? Seemed very quiet without you on here after your bad news, and, I wondered if it was down to garage change as it seems you had empathy with the local spanner whilst "down south", lots of 'em think 'cos it's old we're gonna wreck it- just what I have noticed. Congratulations again Roy

Excellent news Mike, always good to see another one of our motors rescued and restored! That reminds me, Movvy's MOT is due in about 3 weeks, here's hoping for a pass this time as well.

Thats great news, you were lucky to find a good welder as I really struggle to get anything more than someone to patch things here in York. Most body shops here only want modern accident damage to deal with.
