Were the auto boxes the same throughout the range or were they uprated on the cosworth? Mine has no reverse and been told im either looking at £500 or £1500 for rebuild.... havent got it out yet bus was just wondering whether worthwhile getting another box..

The Cosworth ones have stronger clutches. Can't say off hand the exact differences.

Have you tried Wavertree Automatics in Sydenham, SE London for a comment/quote? They're highly recommended and I've used them - albeit just for an autobox filter and oil change 3 years ago.

Hi Planky, The cosworth uses the fully electronic box controlled from the EEV-V ecu. I think the 2.9 gearbox will be the earlier A4LD as that engined remained working with the EEC-IV ecu with no gearbox controls in it. Is yours the cosworth or a different engined one? If yours is Cosworth could you have a wiring problem into the THU plug? Just rewired my engine loom due to wire degradation as you will see from my Yippee post tonight. John.
